Privacy Policy

Level Up Fruit Smash is a single-player game that keeps your data on your device. There is no account, no sign-in, no leaderboard, no advertising, and no analytics SDK. Your progress, your name, your portrait and your photos never leave your iPhone or iPad unless you choose to share them yourself.
1. Who we are
Level Up Fruit Smash (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is an iOS game published as an independent project. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with information, and it applies to the app on every device you install it on.

2. What we do not collect
To be explicit, the app does not:
- ask you to create an account, sign in, or supply an email address;
- collect your name, contact details, address book, calendar, health data, or location;
- use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) or ask for tracking permission;
- embed advertising networks, analytics SDKs, crash-reporting SDKs, or social-login SDKs;
- show ads, sell anything in-app, or use any in-app currency you can buy with real money;
- build a profile of you, or sell, rent, or share personal information with data brokers;
- upload your photos, camera frames, portrait, or game progress to any server.
3. What stays on your device
Everything the app remembers about you is written to your device’s own storage and to your iCloud device backup (if you have backups enabled), and nowhere else:

4. Camera, photos, and motion
Camera
Two features use the camera. The Ripeness Lens reads colour from the live preview to match your surroundings against the fruit codex — frames are analysed in memory, frame by frame, and are never recorded, saved, or transmitted. The Smash Booth lets you take a photo to use as the backdrop for a fruit-physics scene. iOS asks for camera permission the first time; you can decline, and everything else in the app keeps working.
Photo library
You can pick an existing photo as a Smash Booth stage or as your Ringmaster Card portrait, and you can save a finished composition or Card back to your library. The app reads only the images you explicitly select and writes only the images you explicitly ask it to save. It never browses, scans, indexes, or uploads your library.
Motion sensors
Gravity Arena uses the device accelerometer and gyroscope to tilt the playfield while you are playing. The readings are used in the moment to move fruit on screen; they are not stored and not sent anywhere.
Any image you keep — a Smash Booth composition, a Ringmaster Card, a portrait — is yours. If you export or share one, it travels through the standard iOS share sheet to whichever app or person you choose, and this policy no longer governs it.
5. Children
The app is suitable for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). Because it collects no personal information and has no account, no chat, no user-generated content sharing between players, and no purchases, there is nothing for a child to disclose to us. If you believe a child has somehow provided us with personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
6. Network activity
The app is built to run offline. Its only routine network activity is a request at launch to fetch the current text of this policy, so that the in-app Privacy Policy screen always shows the latest version; if the request fails, the app falls back to the copy bundled inside it. The app’s Diagnostics screen shows exactly what that request did.
That request carries the anonymous install identifier described in section 3. It lets us count installs and confirm the policy was delivered. It is a random UUID — it is not your Apple ID, not your device serial, not the IDFA, and it is not tied to your name, your photos, or your game data. Standard web-server logs may record the request’s IP address and timestamp for security and abuse-prevention purposes; those logs are retained for no more than 30 days and are not used to build any profile.
Nutrition and botany figures used in the codex are compiled into the app itself, so looking them up requires no connection at all.
7. Third parties
There are no third-party SDKs in the app. We do not share information with advertisers, analytics vendors, or data brokers, and we do not sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act.
Apple distributes the app and, independently of us, may collect its own data — App Store downloads, aggregate and anonymised usage statistics, and crash reports if you have opted in to sharing them with developers. That collection is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy, not by this one. If you use iCloud Backup, your on-device game data is included in your encrypted Apple backup under Apple’s terms.
8. Legal basis and your rights
Where the GDPR applies, the anonymous install identifier is processed on the basis of our
legitimate interest in operating and maintaining the app (Art. 6(1)(f)). Camera, photo library,
and motion access are used only with the permission you grant through iOS, which you may withdraw
at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security or
Settings → Level Up Fruit Smash.
Because we hold no personal information about you on our side, requests to access, correct, port, or delete personal data have no records to act upon — the data is in your hands:
- See it: everything the app knows is visible in the app itself.
- Erase it: LEVEL → Settings → Erase everything deletes all progress, your name, and your portrait from the device permanently.
- Erase all of it: deleting the app removes its stored data, including the install identifier held in the Keychain.
You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. If you contact us by email, we keep your message only as long as needed to answer it.
9. Security and retention
On-device data is protected by iOS file protection and, in the case of the install identifier, by the system Keychain. Data kept on your device is retained until you erase it or delete the app. No servers hold your game data, so there is nothing on our side to breach, retain, or restore.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the “last updated” date above changes with it, and the new text appears on the in-app Privacy Policy screen the next time the app launches with a connection. Material changes will be summarised at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
